(ROCKFORD, IL , May 2, 2011) – Rockford-based information technology company Ticomix, Inc. (www.ticomix.com) announced today its expansion into the Northeast service desk market with its acquisition of the SMA Report Toolkit (SMART) for HEAT from SMA Management Systems, Inc., based in White Plains, NY. Additionally, Ticomix has hired most of the core employees from SMA Management Systems to ensure continuity of all services related to SMART.

SMART is a software tool used for extensive business reporting that works in conjunction with HEAT, a leading help desk software application by FrontRange Solutions. It has been featured at FrontRange HEAT User Group events and boasts a large base of customers who leverage it to empower data-driven decisions, improving visibility and enhancing service management processes.

Ticomix has also been a HEAT Solutions Provider since their inception in 2000 and, according to company president Tim Ancona, has partnered with SMA since the launch of SMART.

SMA’s management team joins Ticomix

As part of the SMART acquisition, SMA’s core service management team has also joined Ticomix. John Manna, Antonio Marra and Randall Reed will assume key roles in providing service management solutions including FrontRange’s HEAT and ITSM software products.

John Manna has been with SMA Management Systems for over 14 years and comes to Ticomix with nearly 20 years of service desk leadership and sales experience. He will serve as the new Vice President of Service Desk Sales and will, according to John, “look to build on the successful foundation already in place at Ticomix.” John brings a unique combination of consulting experience and business development skills, having worked with organizations of all sizes, providing technologies, professional services and applying best practices to enhance Service Management operations and Business Intelligence initiatives.

Antonio Marra has been with SMA Management Systems for nearly five years as a HEAT/ITSM Consultant and Project Manager. Prior to joining SMA, Antonio worked at other high profile tech-related companies like IBM where he held various roles in Service Management and Database Management. He will be a Senior Consultant for Ticomix.

Randall Reed—based out of Houston, TX—has worked in the HEAT Service Desk market for over 15 years. He will also serve as a Senior Consultant at Ticomix and will help define and build their online training presence.
