Safer Browsing with Built-In Phishing Filters
Created by Matt Cross on Thursday, April 12, 2012 - 3:29pmPhishing is one of the foremost security threats online, but did you know modern browsers include built-in filters to help protect you? Typically, a phishing site is arrived at through a link in an e-mail, where the user is then asked to submit personal information that will later be used by cybercriminals to engage in anything from identity theft to money fraud. Other times the link takes the user to a website that then installs malware of some sort that may either either damage the user's system or enable the cybercriminal to spy on the user's activities (e.g.

Is there any such thing as 100% defense against computer infections?
Created by Terry Gettle on Thursday, March 8, 2012 - 3:13pmWhen it comes to computer infections and viruses, the unfortunate reality is that there is no software product that can single-handedly stop every potential threat. The bad guys outnumber the good guys by a large margin and are constantly pumping out new and altered infections to the tune of thousands a week. This leaves antivirus companies playing catch up and trying to predict what the next strains of computer infection are going to be, much like doctors trying to predict next year’s flu strain.

In other words, looking at the price tag versus what it's actually going to take to make it work.
